Function:
We have an
opportunity for the right individual to come aboard a growing
electronics eTailer.
The Merchandise
Manager of Electronics &
Accessories is responsible for the purchasing, merchandising and
product management of all lines of
electronics and accessories product. Key areas of
responsibility include product selection, purchase, product
replenishment and inventory control in accordance with budgetary
guidelines.
Areas Of
Responsibility:
General:
-
Maintain and observe all company policies and procedures,
including the highest standards of professional conduct and
behavior
-
Ensure all company controls and procedures are maintained with
regards to loss prevention
-
Utilize all company assets only for their intended business
purpose
-
Represent the company through the attendance of industry
functions, events, meetings and other training seminars or
gatherings as directed by management
Communication:
-
Communicate, to the CEO, any and all issues as they relate to
buying, merchandising, product replenishment, inventory control
and budget
-
Maintain company standards with regard to vendors, stores and
company personnel
-
Prepare and present information/feedback/reports pertaining to
responsibilities on a timely basis
Buying:
-
Meet and negotiate with vendors to identify and maximize sales
and marketing opportunities
-
Ensure all purchases are in accordance with Open to Buy
guidelines
-
Review PO's to ensure they accurately reflect the correct cost
price for all product purchased
-
Ensure that the purchasing of all new release, hit, advertised
and time-sensitive product is completed in a timely fashion to
allow the product to be received, processed and merchandised as
necessary by the required date

Check that advertised and promoted products are in stock and act
immediately to correct any deficiencies

Communicate with vendors to ensure timely order placement,
follow-up and problem resolution as necessary

Work with vendors and carriers to ensure timely arrival of
products and resolve problems/issues as necessary

Regularly check product in assigned product lines and act
accordingly to ensure sufficient inventory levels

Review product requests and concerns from field staff/management
and respond/act accordingly

Manage Return To Vendor process
-
Review purchasing/inventory control strategies with CEO as
necessary
Marketing /
Merchandising:
-
Work with vendors and marketing department to source
opportunities, secure and apply co-op funds
Data /
Systems:
-
Review all pertinent business reports and information as
required
-
Maintain confidentiality regarding general business and product
related information
-
Communicate all concerns regarding purchasing and inventory
systems to IT Department
-
Utilize the system within the procedures and guidelines
established
-
Utilize the system, including use of the Internet, for business
purposes only
Miscellaneous
-
Complete special projects as assigned
-
Complete all other jobs as requested or assigned, whether or not
contained in the above job description, given they are lawful
and in keeping with company policy and procedure

JOB
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates will posses
5+ years prior buying and merchandising experience in the
ELECTRONICS RETAIL INDUSTRY
